The work you don't see

Trenches, mechanical rooms, and connections behind the cabinet.

Worker in a trench installing white pipes along a dirt excavation site.
The buried sewer run between a house and the street — inspected on camera before anyone digs.
Wall-mounted water heater in a basement utility room with exposed pipes and a brick wall.
Mechanical rooms where gas, venting and hot water all have to agree with the code book.
Open dishwasher in a kitchen with dark cabinets and a stainless steel interior.
Appliance connections that look like nothing and cause everything when they're done wrong.

Cumming's Plumbing has been the cornerstone of reliable plumbing services in Plymouth, MI for over six decades. Locally and family-owned, women-owned, and staffed by licensed plumbers who tend to remember your basement from last time.

I've used Cummings for bi annual root maintenance and miscellaneous pipe work since 2012. I can attest to their transparent pricing, consultation and customer focused service. Today's maintenance was done by Brandon who I remember from 2 years back. He is professional, offers clear explanations and takes the time to offer options for future considerations. Very happy with the service from Cumming's. There was a water leak from an upstairs source into the ceiling of a the Family Room. John found the source right away (pipe solder joint) and made the repair in an hour. From the call for an appointment to the repair was quick also. Thanks John!!

Everyday tips & prevention

Four things worth doing before you need us.

01

Know where your main shut-off is

Before an emergency happens, find the main water shut-off and make sure everyone in the house can reach it. It is the single fastest way to limit damage from a burst line.

02

Test your sump pump before spring

Pour a bucket of water into the basin and confirm the pump kicks on and discharges. A backup pump keeps working when power or the primary pump does not.

03

Disconnect hoses before the freeze

A hose left attached over a Michigan winter traps water in the hose bib. That trapped water is a common cause of springtime leaks inside the wall.

04

Grease belongs in the trash, not the drain

Cooking grease cools and hardens inside the branch line. Over time it collects everything else that goes down with it.
